Engine
Drain & clean fuel bowl
Replace water separator
Replace secondary fuel filter
Purge air from diesel fuel lines
Replace & clean air filter
Replace sea water pump impeller
Add fuel additives (Lubricity)
Add biocide to fuel tank
Clean sea strainer & fittings
Check sea water hoses
Close drain on lift muffler
Tighten engine bolt
Replace transmission fluid
Check & clean heat exchanger
Replace antifreeze
Close seacocks
Check PYI shaft thru hull seal
Check mixing elbow
Check engine panel lamps
Check motor mounts
Check shaft alignment
First Engine Start
Open fuel tank valve
Open engine seacock Remove exhaust rag
Engine checklist
Crank with air & fuel off 10-15 se
Rest batteries Start
Electrical
Check for battery charge
Check shore power cable
Check battery water
Verify short power battery charger
Check electrical panel
Replace known meter plug with propeller
Test each of the following systems
Autohelm/autopilot
VHF
Cabin lights
Running lights
Refrigerator
Mast light
Knotmeter
Depth indicator
Stereo
Air Conditioning
Shower pump
Washdown pump
Bilge pump
Water system
Fresh Water System
Flush with peroxide & clean 3 tanks
Install cold water hose to water heater
Close drain plug to water heater
Check how water & engine hoses
Close all water heater drains & vents
Fill water heater
Check water manifold
Flush antifreeze from system
Close seacocks
Install shore hose
Clean water filter at pump
Vent hot water trapped air Check cockpit shower
Sanitary System
Check head and add lubricant. If necessary, rebuild head with kit
Check macerator
Clean and check shower sump
Add head chemicals
Check head seacocks
Bilge
Clean and dry bilge
Check inlet strainer
Check pump and float switch
Add chemicals if appropriate
Bottom
Clean and prepare for bottom paint
Prime & paint
Check rudder
Check propeller
Add zincs to prop shaft
Clean depth meter transducer
Check thru-hulls
Clean & lubricate shaft and prop
Topsides
Reinstall boom (if removed)
Reinstall pulley for main
Reinstall mainsheet
Run sheet to cockpit
Check mast for stress cracks
Check spreader anti-chafing pads
Check standing rigging
Adjust tension on all shrouds & stays
Lubricate turnbuckles
Spray rust inhibitor on all fittings
Clean anchor locker
Check ground tackle
Inspect running rigging
Check steering mechanism
Check instruments on pedestal
Check roller furling
Install genoa & sheets
Attach Dutchman to main & adjust
Insert battens
Check lifelines
Check winches
Electronics & Equipment
Check GPS
Check VHF
Check radio & CD
Fill LPG tank
Inspect LPG hoses
Check stove & oven
Check fire extinguishers
Check winch handles
